Ohio State Also Looks Pasadena-Bound

With Johnny Manziel making all the news early and Pac-12's incompetent refs grabbing the headlines late, a little something else out West kind of went unnoticed. Urban Meyer is plotting a long-awaited rematch with Nick Saban.

Remember Meyer? Before Saban became BCS god, Meyer was the one who held the thunderbolt in his hand. Then Saban beat Meyer in the 2009 SEC championship game, which led to Meyer's burnout and self-imposed exile from coaching. He came back after taking it easy for a year in an ESPN booth.
He hasn't lost a game since.

Meyer took over at Ohio State and immediately made the Buckeyes the class of the Big Ten last season, but the postseason bowl ban left them nowhere to go after a 12-0 regular season. This year, the shackles are coming off, and so far there's every reason to believe Ohio State will be headed to Pasadena.

Maybe for the 100th Rose Bowl ... or for that other game five days later.

We mentioned yesterday that Alabama has a pretty smooth path to the BCS title game after surviving Johnny Manziel and Texas A&M on Saturday. But that's nothing compared to Ohio State's red carpet treatment.
