Dewey Beats Truman!

By now of course everybody knows there will be indeed a rematch in the BCS title game. And for the first time in six years, my final projections were not correct for the No. 2 spot.

Well, that happens. While I'm not particularly happy about that, I know I put forth an honest effort. It was close, and ultimately the human voters did what they did.

The rest of the projections were on target, especially with respect to Michigan and TCU. But that's of a small consolation.

I'm not closing down the comments section. If you want to come in and gloat and do whatever, be my guest. As for my long-time readers, I appreciate your continued support.

My BCS post-mortem will be at SB Nation on Monday morning. We'll look at the BCS matchups, as well as all the systemic problems that continue to plague the BCS.

Thanks as always. Here are the complete Final 2011 BCS Standings.

Great sense of humor. Thanks for the chuckle. I'd like to see the breakdown of SEC and Big-12 voters and see how they voted.

Why did you rename your article? Last night the title was "NO REMATCH". This morning it is "WILL THERE BE A REMATCH". I have no problem with anyone taking a stand and not getting it right, that happens. But com'on, stand by what you say. Don't edit your title to make yourself look better in hindsight.

For the record, here is the original title

dear guru,

im not sure you're in the right business. I say that not to gloat or to be cruel, but as a very sporatic and casual reader heres what stands out:

you have emotional hatred of the SEC that your intellect simply can't overcome. You make picks and statements based on those emotions that you know, intellectually, are nonsense...but you make them anyway.

There is nothing wrong with being biased and/or with having a side. We all do. But you can't let it affect your work.

The serious people in college football (most of whom are not SEC fans...im thinking herbstreet and many others)are all willing to swallow their pride and state the obvious: that the SEC is the dominant, premier conference in college football. end of.

you seem to have controlled yourself a bit better this year. Maybe living in florida is helping.

Cheers

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Bama had such a huge lead it was impossible to overcome. No trust left.
