Dropped Out: Missouri (#19), Wisconsin (#21), Stanford (#23), Michigan (#25).
* There's major reshuffling at the top of my ballot. With teams having played about half of their schedules, their relative strengths are becoming more apparent. Based on whom they have played, and how they have won, there is little doubt in my mind that the Alabama Crimson Tide are the best team in college football right now.
* Florida drops to No. 2 because, against the best team they'll face all regular season, the Gators were less than impressive. And LSU was over-ranked in the first place - it easily could've been a two-loss team coming into the game. Alabama and Florida will sort this out anyway if they both remain unbeaten, in the SEC championship game.
* Among the top four unbeaten squads, Texas is decidedly the least impressive. Against vastly inferior competition, the Horns once again trailed going into halftime. Meanwhile, among teams with one loss, Virginia Tech has had the strongest wins and its lone loss was against Alabama in a hard-fought game.
* Only nine teams remain undefeated. Kansas is by far the most suspect, barely squeaking by Iowa State. I am of the belief that entering into November, we'll only have about 3-4 unbeaten teams left.
* Oklahoma gets back in the ballot despite having two losses. Frankly, with a bunch of one-loss teams that have played far inferior competition, the Sooners deserve to be ranked ahead of them. Utah gets back into the top 25 because I deemed the Utes as the best of the rest 1-loss lot vying for the last spot on my ballot.

I always thought you just hated Bama, hence while you never gave them respect. I will be rethinking my opinion of you.
Compared to Boise, Texas has faced decent competition. Wyoming is 4-2, UTEP beat Houston, Tech looks like fine, and even La-Monroe is in 1st place in the Sun Belt.
I know Texas has not domianted early in games and may lose this Saturday to OU, but dropping them down seems downright silly, especially behind Boise who has played one good team and has no good left on their schedule.
Oh, and Boise put on a garbage TD in the final minute against a bad FCS school to make the scoring margin respectable. Exactly how are they No. 3 in your poll?
What exactly has Boise done to merit a "move up" in your poll?
Meanwhile, 5-0 TCU, playing a moderately difficult schedule -- monsterously difficult, compared to Boise -- sits idle at FOURTEEN? Odd.
Your poll voting is not consistent with the reasoned logic of your other writings and comments about other poll voters, in my opinion.
But it's all subjective ...
PeteP, I think at some point..most BCS watchers ("BCS Guru" being no exception) get so frustrated with the system that they start defying the very logic they use to punish bcs conference teams....in favor of the little guys.
Schedule and performance doesn't matter for Boise State. The only thing that matters is the lust to demand they get in the title game or bcs bowl at the least. Logic and prudence be darned. But it is a bit sad when people lesson their case by forcing a situation that just doesn't exist for any reasonable observer (top 3 ranking, for example). It hurts the need for these teams to be taken more seriously by the masses, imo.
seriously...TCU played a harder schedule than Boise so far? no way..I'm not a Boise fan at all, but so far their schedule is tougher. Oregon is solid and beating up a a good team in Fresno is more impressive than any two wins TCU has. UVA? That team is terrible. A good win at Clemson, but again, not all that great of a team. Texas State, SMU, Air Force...not great teams... What are you basing TCU's moderately difficult schedule on?? I do wish TCU was a bit higher, but not higher than Boise at this point in the season. Higher than LSU...yes. That is one of the worst QBs I have seen...
