SB Nation BlogPoll College Football Top 25 Rankings »
* Two games in, it appears USC's defense is a bit suspect, particularly compared to Alabama and LSU. No matter what the excuses are, a top-ranked team should not allow Syracuse to score 29 points. The Tigers made their case for moving up with a rout of Washington, so they're now No. 2.
* Arkansas and Oklahoma State dropped out of the ballot for obvious reasons - particularly Arkansas, which unbelievably is still ranked in the coaches poll (which really should tell you something about that poll). OSU at least had the excuse of losing on the road against a quality BCS-conference foe, the Hogs have no business staying on my ballot.
* Georgia and K-State had the best quality wins among the teams on last week's ballot, so they made big leaps. Arizona and UCLA made it onto the ballot with impressive victories. The rest are pretty much your ho-hum "preseason" stuff we now have unfortunately come to expect.
* Conference-by-conference tally: Pac-12 (5), Big 12 (5), SEC (4), Big Ten (4), ACC (3), Independent (2), MWC (1), MAC (1).
